These unique platforms can remain aloft in the stratosphere (at altitudes ranging from 15,000 meters to 25,000 meters) for up to six months, requiring minimal oversight. At this height, above all aircraft and unaffected by storms, a network of HAPS equipped with communication and surveillance payloads offers several advantages over drone-based systems.
These benefits include extended range, improved image quality, and a broader field of view. Moreover, due to their operating altitude, HAPS are less susceptible to detection and interference. The integrated surveillance and communication network enables encrypted data transmission and real-time imagery at resolutions as fine as 7 centimeters per pixel.
